The vascular research group has close connections with the Oxford Regional Vascular Service, based at the John Radcliffe Hospital. As a result we have an important clinical resource for vascular research. The research group is led by Miss Linda Hands,Clinical Reader, Consultant Vascular Surgeon and supported by Mr Ashok Handa, Surgical Tutor and Consultant Vascular Surgeon.  The group's core research  interests include

  • The effects of peripheral vascular disease on blood coagulation activity
  • Changes in coagulation in the perioperative period
  • The aetiology of venous disease
