Jorgen Nordenstrom is Professor in Surgery at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. His present research interests are within the fields of endocrine surgery and metabolism, particularly focusing on hyperparathyroidism, calcium and bone mineral metabolism. He has a long and continuing interest in undergraduate teaching and surgical training. He also has a strong interest in Evidence-based Medicine and has written a textbook on this subject, Evidence-Based Medicine in Sherlock Holmes’ Footsteps (Blackwell, 2007). The publication list includes 150 original papers, mainly in the fields of parenteral nutrition, metabolism and endocrine surgery, chapters in text books and four books. His most recent book is a historical piece, The Hunt for the Parathyroids (Wiley Blackwell, 2012)
