DPhil Student and Clinical Research Fellow in Transplant Surgery
I obtained my medical license from Dresden University and completed an Erasmus exchange in Zurich, as well as numerous electives in Austria, Switzerland, Réunion Island and Australia. I started my surgical training at university hospitals in Bochum and Muenster before coming to Oxford as a clinical research fellow.
During my DPhil, I have been investigating damage and repair patterns during normothermic regional perfusion (NRP), alongside identifying additional targets for therapeutic intervention. I am conducting my research under the close supervision of Dr Letizia Lo Faro, Professor Rutger Ploeg and Professor Peter Friend.
In addition to my research, I am greatly committed to teaching medicine and surgery to medical students which I have been doing with great enthusiasm for the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences and Green Templeton College.
My interests include fitness, swimming and diving, and trying to keep up with my dogs when running.
