Sophie Reynolds

Clinical Trial Manager

I joined SITU (NDS) in February 2023 as a Clinical Trial Manager for working on two studies, CARE and ENDO-CARE. The CARE Trial aims to find out how practical it is for people carrying excess weight to lose weight after a bowel cancer diagnosis and while waiting for surgery. Physical fitness and well-controlled blood sugar are linked with fewer complications after surgery. For people carrying excess weight, losing weight improves both of the above, so it could reduce complications after surgery.  This will help us to see, in future research, whether losing weight is of benefit to a larger number of patients. ENDO-CARE is a sister study to CARE undertaken with participants who are diagnosed with endometrial cancer.

Prior to joining SITU, I was a Quality Assurance Administrator for the Early Phase and Late Phase Oncology and Haematology Research Teams at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford and as a Senior Data Manager for the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit based within the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford.
