IF Oxford is an opportunity for people to explore innovative ideas and creative research in and around Oxford. Combining science, technology, engineering and mathematics with arts and humanities, it brings together researchers, authors and creative professionals.

NDS will participate in the festival again this year and the outreach team are looking forward to connecting with some of tomorrow's future scientists and surgeons at our virtual booth at Explorazone Digital on Saturday 17 October.

The NDS activities include:

BEAT THE PATHOLOGISTS

Ever wondered how diseases get diagnosed? Have a go and see if you can identify normal and diseased tissue cells. You'll be doing exactly what a pathologist would do in the lab - can you beat them?

Beat the Pathologists competition launches on Saturday 17 October and is open to all school students across three categories: primary, secondary and sixth form. There are prizes (up to £50 in Amazon vouchers) for the top three scores in each category.

The competition opens on Saturday 17 October and closes on 16 November 2020. To launch the competition, visitors will be able to watch the video of the opening ceremony with Professor Clare Verrill on the virtual booth.

Beat the Pathologists is sponsored by PathLAKE, University of Warwick, University of Oxford, NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, and the University of Nottingham.
