Below is a selection of the comments made by the students.

'(Katie Hurst is) an outstanding tutor, possibly the best clinical tutor I have had in my entire clinical medicine. She combined really good small group tutorial teaching with bedside teaching, seeing patients and watching us take histories and exam them.’

'(Georgios Vrakas is an) excellent surgical tutor and gave us regular tutorials on transplant surgery with a good balance between the surgical specifics and the medical management and implications. This involved both formal teaching and bedside teaching and was an excellent introduction to the speciality.

'(Aaron Lieblich) gave some really helpful teaching during the urology attachment.'

OIiver Jones received the following comments: ‘The teaching sessions given on colorectal surgery were excellent,’ ‘Always keen to teach in clinic and theatre,’ and ‘He gave us great bedside teaching.’

Guy Webster, who was nominated for Consultant Teacher of the Year, also received the following comment from one of his students: ‘I would like to make a special mention of Mr Webster in Urology. His rapid access clinic was superb. He was very welcoming, taught alongside the clinic, guided us through and ensured we had as much practice as possible in history and examinations, and made his clinic very interesting and a pleasure to be in.’
