Human Factors Research Assistant
Olivia Lounsbury serves as a Human Factors Research Assistant in the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences. She is involved in the department's RUPERT project where she is designing and implementing interviews and observations to better understand staff perceptions, opinions, and behaviours related to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use, ultimately resulting in recommendations to improve compliance during future pandemics. She is also currently engaged with the RESPOND project under Professor Peter McCulloch, where the team is designing and implementing human factors-based interventions to improve the speed and quality of resuscitation of surgical patients.
Alongside her role in the department, she is currently working in the Quality and Safety Department at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center and has completed her Master's degree at Georgetown University in Clinical Quality, Safety, and Leadership with an emphasis on human factors.
