The European Course in Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy – (ECMINT) intends to teach trainees in Interventional Neuroradiology all the elements of the specialty of the specialty curriculum as defines by the Neuroradiology subsection of the European Union of Medical Specialist (UEMS). The first full cycle will comprise 4 courses to be held at St Anne’s College Oxford over the next 24 months.
ECMINT 1 (15-19th December 2014) is a comprehensive didactic course comprising lectures and tutorials, over 3 full and 2 half days, dealing with basics of neurointervention. The course covers neurovascular, anatomy, embryology, pathophysiology of venous disease, dural AVFs, tumours amenable to embolisation and cranio-facial malformations and their treatment.
It is aimed primarily at neurointerventional trainees and junior consultants practicing in neurointervention but would almost certainly serve as a useful refresher for more experienced practitioners.
ECMINT 2-4 (June and December 2015 and June 2016) will continue in the same format- lectures and tutorials – more anatomy, embryology and pathophysiology dealing with management of intracranial aneurysms, subarachnoid haemorrhage, arteriovenous malformations, stroke etc.
