My research focus is on the insulin-like growth factor (IGF) axis and its immunosuppressive effects in prostate cancer. Based on associations of high circulating IGF-1 with prostate cancer risk and prostate cancer IGF-1R expression, I’m interested in understanding the anti-tumour effects of IGF blockade in prostate in vitro and in vivo, and through clinical trial in men with newly-diagnosed prostate cancer.

I graduated from Cornell University (USA) with a BA in Biological Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. I then worked as a research assistant in Dr Soberman’s Lab at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital for three years, researching the mechanism and function behind a novel protein highly expressed in recurrent paediatric myeloid leukaemia patients. Afterwards, I moved to the UK in 2019 where I worked as a research assistant in Val Macaulay’s lab, investigating the effect of IGF inhibition in prostate cancer progression.
