Seven cutting edge research projects, including a project led by Professor Peter Friend from the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, have been awarded grants totalling £1.1 million by the UK medical research charity, Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF). The grants bring the charity’s total research support to £10 million.

Oxford and Newcastle receive £1.7m for vital biobank expansion

A multi-disciplinary team of researchers in Oxford and Newcastle, led by Professor Rutger Ploeg from the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, has been awarded a grant of £1.7 million from the Medical Research Council. The four-year grant will enable the expansion of the successful Quality in Organ Donation (QUOD) initiative, currently funded and supported by NHS Blood and Transplant.
