"Cataloguing intestinal origins at single cell resolution: A journey through time and space"

Biography

MBChB MPhil MRCS PgDip (Health Research) David Fawkner-Corbett - Wellcome DPhil Doctoral Training FellowFollowing on from an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in paediatric surgery, David Fawkner-Corbett is now in the final year of a Wellcome clinical DPhil fellowship. His work looks at the formation and dysregulation of the intestinal barrier in development and IBD. The lab has previously used single cell RNA-sequencing to look at fibroblast and epithelial drivers of inflammation at the molecular level in ulcerative colitis. This project builds upon this and aims to map the origins of normal intestinal formation in humans at high resolution, highlighting drivers of key developmental milestones and revealing new aspects of developmental disease.

Chair: Professor Freddie Hamdy

All members of the University and NHS clinical staff are welcome.
