The Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) is delighted to announce the promotion of Sarah Howles to Associate Professor.

Associate Professor Sarah Howles

As a group leader in the Oxford Stone Group at NDS, Associate Professor Howles is dedicated to advancing kidney stone treatment and research through basic, translational, and clinical studies. Her research primarily focuses on understanding the pathophysiology of renal stone disease and identifying new therapeutic targets to prevent kidney stone recurrence. Her long-term goal is to develop improved strategies to prevent the formation of kidney stones and establish a precision medicine framework for kidney stone disease.

Commenting on her promotion, Associate Professor Howles said: ‘I’m delighted and honoured to have been recognised in this way by the University. My research has always been a team effort and I’d like to thank the patients, colleagues, and collaborators who have made this possible.’
