The outreach team shared their passion and knowledge of science and medicine in the Westgate Shopping Centre (Westgate Wonderlab) on Saturday 19 October and in Oxford Town Hall (Explorazone) on Sunday 20 October.
The hands-on activities were: learning how to suture a banana skin to simulate surgery, hands-on training using a robotic surgery simulator, discovering how surgeons wash their hands, a 3D learning experience to explore the circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems with fully immersive 360 videos using augmented reality t-shirts and iPads, and 3D printed models, including a kidney, liver, and paediatric chest with lungs and a heart.
Below are just some of the positive comments the outreach team received from the many children of all ages, and some adults too, who visited the NDS interactive stall.
Banana suturing

"I really enjoyed trying the germ test. I also did it at my primary school in Year 6. It was really good. I enjoyed it so much."
