We offer opportunities for research training for clinical and non-clinical graduates. We are also responsible for delivering the surgical training to the University of Oxford Medical School undergraduates.
Postgraduate Taught
MSc Integrated Immunology
The MSc in Integrated Immunology is a one-year, full-time course comprising of two taught terms followed by a 14 week laboratory based research project within an University of Oxford laboratory.
MSc Surgical Science and Practice
The MSc in Surgical Science and Practice is a part-time, modular course completed in two to three years by surgical trainees.
Postgraduate Certificate
PGCert in Patient Safety
The Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) is a part-time course for healthcare professionals, offered by the Department for Continuing Education in collaboration with the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences.
Short Courses
Global Surgery Course
This five-day course looks at the provision of surgical services at a global level, encompassing all related specialties including obstetrics, gynaecology and anaesthesia/critical care.
MSc in Precision Cancer Medicine
The Department of Oncology has introduced a new MSc course in Precision Cancer Medicine designed for working professionals. The course is delivered in collaboration with academics from various research centres at Oxford, including the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences.

The DPhil in Surgical Sciences is a full-time doctoral programme offering research training for both clinical and non-clinical graduates in their chosen field of research.
MSc by Research in Surgical Sciences
The MSc by Research in Surgical Sciences is a full-time research programme offering research training for both clinical and non-clinical graduates in your chosen area. The MSc by Research programme is of shorter length than a doctoral programme.
