My research focuses on understanding the insulin-like growth factor (IGF) axis in prostate cancer.
Aberrant IGF signalling is known to contribute to the growth and progression of various cancers. People with high blood circulating IGF-1 levels are at an increased risk of developing cancers of the prostate, colon, lung and breast. Conversely, subjects with deficiencies in IGF-1 production are protected from developing cancers. My research aims to investigate how high circulating IGF-1 could influence cancer risk by regulating components of the tumour microenvironment.
I recently completed my DPhil (PhD) in Oncology with Val Macaulay in the Department of Oncology at the University of Oxford. Prior to this, I completed my BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science at Kingston University, London.
