MelMarT-II Trial Manager

On maternity leave

I was appointed as the MelMarT-II Trial Manager at the end of November 2021 and have previously worked as a Clinical Trials Assistant, Research Coordinator and Clinical Project Manager in various clinical settings, including CRO, a pharmaceutical company and at a clinical trial site. I have a degree in biochemistry, which I obtained from the University of Bath and completed a placement year with GlaxoSmithKline.

My research is on whether there is a difference in disease free survival for patients treated with either a 1cm excision margin or 2cm margin for clinical stage II (pT2b-pT4b) primary cutaneous melanoma. This research is important because it is designed to show that the risk of long-term pain associated with surgery can be reduced with a smaller margin.

It is expected that successful completion of this study will define the appropriate management of Stage II primary cutaneous melanoma (pT2b-pT4b) for Australia and the international melanoma community.

When not working I enjoy playing netball and I help to run the netball club in Wallingford. I also swim and completed my first half marathon in September 2021. I plan to run another half marathon this year.
