My research focuses on the neural control of the bladder. I am interested in how we can learn more about bladder function through neuromodulation and neurophysiological recordings made via deep brain stimulation electrodes. I am also working with patients with Parkinson’s disease to study degenerating neural pathways associated with bladder dysfunction, both to help identify possible future targets for neuromodulation and to strengthen our understanding about important brain regions in the continence pathway.
