Retired hospice medical director and consultant in palliative medicine

Richard Scheffer is a retired hospice medical director and consultant in palliative medicine. He read medicine at University of Cape Town and trained in oncology at King Edward VIII Hospital, Durban and Velindre Hospital, Cardiff before completing training in palliative medicine at St Christopher’s Hospice, London. He had cancer of the prostate treated with radical radiotherapy and hormones in 2018.
