Luminex: Multiplex protein assays and beyond
Monday, 23 September 2024, 11am to 12pm
Jenner Institute Seminar Room, Old road Campus Research Building
Luminex MAP technology and MILLIPLEX kits
Dr Aimee Parsons, Merck
Robert Hardcastle, Merck
We will look at how to get the most out of your biomarker research by using the Luminex Intelliflex system combined with Merck's MILLIPLEX kits. We will start by looking at the Luminex MAP technology and how this can save you time, money, and most of all, your sample! We will then explore how MILLIPLEX has been designed for genuine plexability while minimising cross-reactivity and false signals, and how our kits have been used in real-world research.
Optimisation of a Malaria Vaccine Serology Panel
Dr Amelia Bajer, University of Oxford
Dr Samuel Provstgaard Morys, University of Oxford
We are developing an in-house 6-plex serology assay for use in clinical trials to understand the immunogenicity of R21/Matrix-M. This is an assay using antigen-antibody binding to investigate the antibody titre against 6 vaccine-related antigens in clinical trial participant serum. This development was a multi-step process, involving a protein titration and dose-response analysis to identify the optimal coupling concentration of each antigen, followed by standard curve optimisation, sample testing and dilution linearity.
