The graduate programme within NDS provides a fully integrated research training environment, with students working closely with an academic supervisor who oversees their studies. Research students are expected to produce a thesis that represents a significant and substantial piece of their degree.

NDS aims to admits up to 10 postgraduate students each year to study towards a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) - Oxford’s equivalent of a PhD - in Surgical Sciences or a Master's in Science (MSc) by Research in Surgical Sciences.
