Biography

Adele Francis

Professor Adele Francis is Consultant Surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham and Honorary Professor in Cancer Sciences at University of Birmingham.

Professor Francis is the Royal College of Surgeons Specialty Lead for Breast Surgery Research and the Chief Investigator of the NEO-EXCEL, and LORIS and NOSTRA trials. She is a member of the NCRI Breast Clinical Studies Group (CSG), the ABS Research committee and the breast CSG translational subgroup.

Her research interests include neoadjuvant therapy and addressing overtreatment in surgery by increasing the current evidence base.

 

The lecture will be chaired by Professor Ashok Handa, Director of Surgical Education at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences. 

All members of the University and NHS clinical staff are welcome.
