We are pleased to announce the election of Dr Elisha Ngetich, a DPhil candidate at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, as President of the University of Oxford Africa Society for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Dr Ngetich is a qualified medical doctor and Rhodes scholar from Kenya. For his DPhil, he works under Professor Ashok Handa and Dr Regent Lee in the Oxford Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm OXAAA Group.  

Professor Handa commented: 'I'm delighted that Elisha will be taking this on at a crucial time for universities across the world, and also Oxford, to show leadership in exercising zero tolerance to racism and challenging these behaviours.'
