Congratulations to Dr Lisa Browning who has been announced as this year’s winner of the Golden Microscope Award by the Pathological Society.

The purpose of the award is to recognise excellent post-graduate training in pathology and to ensure the continuation of the mission of the Pathological Society "Understanding Disease - Guiding Therapy".

The winner was announced at the joint Royal Society of Medicine and Pathological Society Winter Meeting, held virtually from 25 to 26 January 2022. 

Dr Browning is a consultant histopathologist (uropathologist) within the Department of Cellular Pathology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford. She is supported by the PathLAKE Project and, as a member of Oxford team, she works closely with the PathLAKE Oxford Consortium Co-lead Professor Clare Verrill at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences.
