This was a very well deserved award as Professor Wood has made enormous contributions to The Transplantation Society in a whole variety of ways as former President, the founder of the Women in Transplantation group and has given numerous plenary lectures, to name but a few. She is of course internationally renowned as a transplant immunologist.
