Michael Douek begins term as President of the British Association of Surgical Oncology

Professor Michael Douek has assumed his role as the 22nd President of the British Association of Surgical Oncology (BASO ~ ACS), effective 7 November 2023.

Michael DouekProfessor Douek is the Rosetrees Royal College of Surgeons of England Academic Director of NDS SITU and Professor of Surgical Sciences and Breast Cancer at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences.

He has been a member of BASO since 1998 and served on BASO Council as an Ordinary Member since 2011 and as Meetings Secretary from 2015 to 2020. He was appointed BASO Honorary Secretary in 2020, was elected as BASO Vice-President in 2021 and succeeded as BASO President from November 2023 for two years.
