Members of the Quality in Organ Donation (QUOD) initiative recently participated in a paintballing team building event as their prize for winning the NDS Team of the Year award.

Every year, the department recognises the individuals and teams who continuously work hard to deliver excellence, through the NDS Staff Awards.

There are five awards, which are open to anyone at any level in the department: NDS Employee of the Year, NDS Team of the Year, NDS Citizen of the Year, NDS Early-stage Researcher of the Year, and NDS Scientific Achievement of the Year.

All members of the department are asked to nominate colleagues in these five categories, and the winners are decided by the NDS Staffing Committee and announced at the annual NDS Away Day.

The Head of Department, Professor Freddie Hamdy, announced QUOD as the NDS team of the Year at the 2018 NDS Away Day earlier on in the year. The winning team received a cash prize for a team activity, outing or equipment. The QUOD team chose to go paintballing.

'It was an amazing day and fantastic team building event," the QUOD team said. 'It's really appreciated to have the department recognising and rewarding teams which are working well. It was a nice way to celebrate all of the hard work the team has put in over the past year. It's fair to say everyone's paintballing skills have been honed! We'd really encourage other people to nominate teams for this year's award.'

Staff: please visit the NDS Intranet for more informtion about this year's NDS Staff Awards (SSO required).
