The Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) is very happy to report that Joanna Hester has been promoted to Associate Professor.

Associate Professor Joanna Hester

Associate Professor Hester is a group co-leader of the Translational Research Immunology Group (TRIG), a dynamic, multidisciplinary international team of around 20 scientists, clinician scientists and students, based at NDS. The main focus of her research is the exploration of mechanisms of immunological tolerance with the aim of developing therapies that could benefit transplant recipients and patients with immune related diseases.

Commenting on her promotion, Associate Professor Hester said: "I am delighted with this recognition from the University. It represents many years of collaborative research on biology of regulatory cells and translational efforts in pre-clinical and clinical settings. This would not be possible without my colleagues, collaborators and TRIG group members as well as the continuous support of my department and mentors."
