The Oxford Surgical Interventional Unit was launched at the Royal College of Surgeons Annual Day held at St Anne's College on 26th March, 2014. The event, which was attended by 100 delegates, included presentations from individual unit directors on their progress and also a "hot topic" of their choice relating to surgical research and innovation. Topics chosen included "Placebo controls in surgical trials", "Teaching Undergraduates in Clinical Research" and "Surgical Devices in Surgical Trlals".
