Held in the Academic Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital on 10 July, the Inaugural Oxford Surgical Symposium was an opportunity for surgical trainees to share the research they are carrying out throughout the region and also the research being undertaken by academic trainees at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences. Trainees were invited to submit abstracts in one of the following catergories: audit, clinical research and academic research. The top five abstracts in each category were selected for oral presentation and a prize was awarded to the best presentation in each category, as judged by the expert panel.
Dr Yeung is pictured above receiving his prize from Professor Harold Ellis CBE FRCS.
During the same symposium, Dr Fadi Issa won the prize for the best presentation in the academic session. Read the full story.
