BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences

Research technician

I have completed BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Portsmouth and I joined the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS) as a Research Technician in Human Islet Isolation. In my role, I support clinical and research procedures for the Oxford Consortium for Islet Transplantation (OXCIT). My duties include assisting with islet isolations by preparing solutions, setting up and maintaining the laboratory environment, and performing decontamination and quality testing. Additionally, I oversee equipment and stock management, monitor air handling systems and laboratory conditions, and contribute to recordkeeping and database management.
