Research Support Assistant / Lab Technician (Cover)
My work at OCHRe/ORB involves supporting the team to process research application and histology requests such as identifying relevant cases and checking consent status. I am also involved in coordinating different aspects of maintaining a tissue biobank under the HTA licence such as ensuring tissue samples are stored correctly and databases are updated accurately for traceability.
In addition, I have recently started to take up the lab technician role to cover for my colleague. This part of my role involves embedding tissues and cutting sections from tissue samples such as breast, kidney, lung etc.
