Register now for our panel event designed for early- and mid-career researchers. This event provides an opportunity to address your questions about funding and grant applications.

Join us for a panel discussion with speakers from funding institutions answering your questions. The event will seek to answer such questions as:

  • What one call or project would the funder want researchers to know about (if they don’t already).
  • What are funders looking for in the supporting documentation/statement of support? How do you make sure your supporting documentation is strong?
  • What level of risk are funders willing to accept? What is the balance to strike between ambitious, “big picture” ideas and more straightforward, “safe” ideas? How much room is there for discovering things along the way?

Speakers

Sheraz Markar - Professor of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and Director of NDS SITU

Mathew Hobbs - Director of Research at Prostate Cancer UK

Ryan Wolstenholme - Senior Programme Manager (NIHR)

Elaine Davies - Kidney Research UK

Sophie Hawkesworth - The Wellcome Trust

You'll be able to submit your questions on the day.

Lunch served 12:00-12:30 (ticket required)
