Biographies

Dr Søren Kudsk-Iversen

Søren is an anaesthetic consultant and anaesthetic sustainability lead at OUH, with a clinical and academic interest in the overlap between health inequities and climate vulnerability, and the use of routine perioperative data can be used to highlight and challenge global and local health inequity. He is an honorary senior clinical lecturer with Oxford University, and provides undergraduate and postgraduate teaching on sustainability in healthcare. Based on his work to reduce the environmental impact at departmental and Trust level, he was a finalist at the Oxford Climate Champion Awards last year and won the OUH staff recognition award in 2023 for sustainability.

 

Dr SanYuMay Tun

 

Dr SanYuMay Tun has a background in medicine as a former general practitioner, in environmental science and policy, and in medical education as a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA). She is Chair of the ESH Alliance of the UK Medical Schools Council, having led the development of Education for Sustainable Healthcare – A curriculum for the UK, the first ESH curriculum to be endorsed by any national medical educational bodies. SanYuMay has an international presence in bringing Planetary Health and sustainable healthcare into core health professions training. At Oxford University, she leads Education for Sustainable Healthcare at the medical school, and is a Fellow of Green Templeton College.

 

 

The Chief Medical Officer has confirmed that attendance at the Surgical Grand Rounds can count toward internal CPD, with 1 point awarded per hour. Please note that in-person attendance is required, and you will need to sign the attendance register.
