Two members of the Centre for Evidence in Transplantation (CET) at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences have been elected to the committees of the British Transplantation Society (BTS).

Dr Liset Pengel will join the Standards Committee as vice-chair, and Dr Simon Knight has been elected to the Clinical Trials Committee.

Both are very excited about getting more involved, and hope that they can bring the CET ethos of a strong evidence base in transplantation to the excellent work of the BTS.

The BTS Standards Committee is responsible for commissioning and writing new standards in transplantation, reviewing existing standards and working with experts in the field. The BTS Clinical Trials Committee is responsible for identifying, organising, coordinating and encouraging clinical trials in transplantation. It also has a role in promoting outstanding quality clinical research in transplantation in the UK.
