The NDS Collaborative Green Group has received a ‘Working Towards’ award in the annual National Union of Students Green Impact Awards.

The Green Impact Awards 2017 were announced during the University of Oxford’s Sustainability Showcase on 12 June. Nicky Iyer and Tarryn Ching from the NDS team were present to collect the award and to celebrate ours and others’ achievements in making a positive impact on society and the environment.

Green Impact Award© NDSGreen Impact is now running for its third successful year at Oxford. Teams are guided through a common programme of activities and practical actions suggested by a simple online framework, which covers a number of areas such as energy saving, recycling, resources (i.e. plastic cups and paper) and sustainable transport. The more actions that are completed the more points are scored, leading to a ‘Working Towards’, Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award. There are also Special Awards available for Innovation, or particularly inspiring individuals: Environmental Heroes.

Ally Bradley is leading the initiative for NDS and the team will now work towards the Bronze award.
