Neil Mortensen, Professor of Colorectal Surgery in the University of Oxford Medical School, has been awarded Honorary Membership of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI).

Professor Mortensen received the honour at the ACPGBI annual meeting in Dublin

Professor Mortensen received the ACPGBI’s highest honour in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the association over many years, at the annual meeting in Dublin in July 2019.

He said: “It is a great honour to be recognised by your peers. This is the specialty I helped to create in the UK and I am very proud to have been given such a special award.”
