Congratulations to Paul Johnson who has been elected President-Elect of the European Pancreas and Islet Transplant Association (EPITA).

Professor Paul Johnson

Professor Paul Johnson, Director of Oxford Islet Isolation and Islet Transplant Programmes and Professor of Paediatric Surgery at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, has been an EPITA Board member since 2023 and will become the association’s President in 2027.

EPITA, a section of the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT), aims to provide theoretical education and in-person training to scientists, physicians, surgeons and technicians who have an interest in the field of beta cell replacement therapy and regenerative medicine. Topics covered are new technologies in islet isolation and transplantation, 3D bioprinting, organoid applications, and stem cell derived therapies.
