Assistant Surgical Course Administrator
I started working for the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (formerly, Nuffield Department of Surgery) in 2003.
I started off (in 2003) working as the ENT Course Administrator for the year 5 (2nd year clinical) students, delivering the course on behalf of Oxford University Medical School. This involved arranging the entire teaching programme for the course. I worked closely with both Academic, Clinical and Medical School colleagues to do this. I was also the ENT Academic Secretary dealing with ad-hoc education enquiries and visitors on behalf of the Department.
In February 2007, I also began working in the Surgical Course Administrator's Office for three days a week (reducing my time in ENT to one day a week and thus dropping the ENT Academic Secretarial role). I left the ENT Department completely in 2018 and now work solely in the Surgical Course Administrator's Office.
Here, I work alongside Lucy Tipping and Professor Ashok Handa. I assist with the smooth running of the 4th (1st year clinical) and 6th year (2nd year clinical) courses, as well as arranging the Year 6 Revision Course, which takes place prior to the students sitting their 2nd BM Examination.
