The journal starts a new series on sustainability in surgery by Susannah Black and Emily Hotine writes about the 'Picture a Scientist' film. Some of our researchers reflect on and relate to the stories shared by the leading women scientists in the documentary about the inequalities they have faced in their careers.

You can also read a selection of top case reports written by University of Oxford medical students during their clinical studies, including the management of appendicitis in COVID and during pregnancy as well as the prevention of bile duct injuries.

Plus, Magdalena Chmura profiles Ms Ann Etohan Ogbemudia, a general surgery registrar at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with an interest in abdominal transplantation.
