Ruchi C., Handa AK.
The study was conducted at National Research Centre for Agroforestry, Jhansi to see the effect of shade on stem cuttings of Pongamia pinnata with four treatments (35, 50, 75 and 100% shade). The results showed that among different shade levels, S 1 (35%) registered maximum value for all the growth and productivity parameters, namely, plant height, root length, collar diameter, shoot biomass, root biomass, root : shoot ratio, leaf biomass, total biomass, CGR and RGR. The plants raised under S 3 (75%) shade level recorded minimum values for all these traits.
