Biographies

Alice Warwick is an acute care nurse with 12 years’ experience across acute general medicine, lower GI surgery and intensive care. Her skills include advanced history taking and clinical assessment, non-medical prescribing, venepuncture and cannulation, and interpretation of blood results including blood gases. A trained intensive care nurse, she supports intubations, initiates HFNO and NIV, and manages patients requiring inotropes and vasopressors. Alice also co-leads the paediatric education strategy.
Carlotta Tomboloni is an acute care nurse with 11 years’ experience across acute medicine and intensive care. Her skills include advanced history taking and clinical assessment, venepuncture and cannulation, and interpretation of blood results including blood gases. A trained intensive care nurse, she supports intubations, initiates HFNO and NIV, and manages patients requiring inotropes and vasopressors. She also holds an independent and supplementary prescribing qualification and delivers education programmes across the Trust.

Andrew McCallum is a Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases and Acute General Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals. He trained in the UK (Edinburgh, Liverpool, London) and overseas (South Africa, Malawi). His clinical and research interests include management of sepsis and tuberculosis therapeutics. He was the Trust Sepsis Lead for Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust 2021-25.
Louise Dunsmure is a Consultant Pharmacist for Antimicrobial Stewardship and current chair of the Expert Advisory Group on Antimicrobials for Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Louise is committed to tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and works closely with clinical staff to implement antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) throughout the Trust as well as supporting the stewardship agenda across the whole health economy.

Nicola Jones is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and AGM at the OUH. She is also the clinical lead for Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS). Her interests are Tropical/ travel Medicine, TB, HIV and bacterial infection in general. She is a key member of the AMS team, working with clinical teams to ensure best practice in antibiotic use.
The Chief Medical Officer has confirmed that attendance at the Surgical Grand Rounds can count toward internal CPD, with 1 point awarded per hour. Please note that in-person attendance is required, and you will need to sign the attendance register.
