Speakers
Associate Professor Mark Sullivan - Consultant Urological Surgeon, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Associate Professor Andrew Protheroe is Associate Professor of Uro-Oncology and Consultant Medical Oncologist at Oxford, where he has specialised in urological cancers since 2001. Over more than two decades in the field, he has played a role in advancing clinical research and improving patient outcomes across the full spectrum of urological malignancies. He has established and successfully led a large and diverse portfolio of clinical studies in urological cancer, contributing to the development of novel therapies, improved treatment pathways, and biological understanding of these diseases. Also he spearheaded several patient-focused initiatives, championing approaches that enhance patient experience, engagement, and shared decision-making within oncology services.
Associate Professor Rachael Bashford-Rogers (Department of Biochemistry) leads a pioneering research group focused on decoding the immune system’s dynamic behaviour in health and disease. Her lab develops key experimental and computational technologies that reveal how immune cells develop, interact, and respond in autoimmunity, cancer, and infection. She is also a committed translational scientist and co-founder of Alchemab Therapeutics, a company harnessing naturally protective immune responses to discover new antibody therapies, and Theraimmune, developing therapeutics targeting female age-related mechanisms post-menopause.
Dr Semini Greening (Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) is a senior medical oncology registrar, currently specialising in uro-oncology, and has a strong focus on integrating research and clinical care. Prior to her registrar training, she undertook a fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital, working within prostate cancer clinical trials and gaining a PhD investigating the role of liquid biopsies in prostate cancer. She has experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials, contributing to translational research aimed at improving outcomes for patients with genitourinary cancers.
