Mental Health Awareness Week 2025

The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division (MPLS) are once again offering a Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) programme of activity for anyone across the University who wants to get involved! From 12 – 16 May 2025, they have prepared a week of events, activities, and learning opportunities, including mental health talks, digital detoxes, community wanders, cosy book clubs - and much more!

This year’s theme is COMMUNITY. It celebrates the power and importance of the people around us. We thrive when we have strong, safe and positive connections – being part of a supportive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing.

While we know there are lots of things that we may have less control over that have a big impact on our mental health and wellbeing (like workload, cost of living, and conflict), we still want to provide opportunities for staff and students in the University to prioritise their mental health, to learn new skills, or to simply just get away from their screens or usual workplace for a short while. So join us this week in prioritising your mental health!

Check out our programme and register for events and daily emails via this webpage. Where there are capacity limits, we may need to prioritise MPLS staff and students, but all are welcome to sign up and we will confirm spaces as soon as possible.
