Hip fracture care in Asia
Grace Drury, Global Health Project Manager in the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) and Oxford University Global Surgery Group, will discuss 'HIPCARE: an NIHR Global Health grant to improve quality-of-life for hip fracture patients and to reduce healthcare costs in Asia'.
HIPCARE is a cluster randomised controlled trial with embedded process evaluation in India, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Find out more about the HIPCARE Study.
Dr En Lin Goh, DPhil Student in Musculoskeletal Sciences in NDORMS and Specialty Registrar in Trauma and Orthopaedics, will discuss 'Service availability and readiness for hip fracture care in low- and middle-income countries in South and Southeast Asia'.
En Lin qualified from Imperial College London in 2018. He completed the academic foundation programme in 2020, and was appointed as an academic clinical fellow in trauma and orthopaedics in 2022. His research interest is in hip fracture care and his DPhil looks to investigate risk factors linked to the development of complications in hip fractures.
