Dr Ágata Carreira

In this role, Dr Carreira will contribute to the research community of Jesus College. As part of her responsibilities, she will:

  • Serve as College Advisor to postgraduate students.
  • Participate in or co-organise College research seminars and researcher development events for postgraduates and early career researchers.
  • Support the wider academic life of the College.

Dr Carreira shared her enthusiasm for the role: ‘I aim to enhance the research culture by actively engaging in interdisciplinary discussions and fostering collaborations across departments. I look forward to organising and participating in research seminars, particularly within the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub, as well as in outreach activities that connect the broader public with science. Additionally, I am committed to mentoring students and fostering their academic and personal development, as I recognise the profound role mentorship plays in shaping a student’s path.'
