Runners of all abilities started 2023 by challenging themselves to run 26.2 miles across January to fundraise for Prostate Cancer UK as part of the charity’s Run the Month: Marathon Edition.

Prostate cancer now affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. Prostate cancer is not always life-threatening, said Prostate Cancer UK, but when it is, the earlier you catch it the more likely it is to be cured.

The fundraising efforts of all those that took part in Run the Month: Marathon Edition will help fund lifesaving research and support for men and their families affected by prostate cancer, and will also help raise awareness of the disease.

Having completed the challenge, NDS Interim Head of Department Professor Ian Mills hopes to raise £700 for the charity and donations are still welcome. If you would like to donate, please visit Professor Mills’ fundraising page
