Held in the Richard Doll Building on Old Road Campus, it was an exciting day of oral presentations, posters, discussions and prizes.
Professor Freddie Hamdy, Head of Department, and Associate Professor Claire Edwards, Director of Graduate Studies, kicked off the event by welcoming everyone to the symposium. Then throughout the day, graduate students from across the department presented on their projects.
The symposium also featured a plenary talk by Professor Dominic Furniss from the Nuffield Department of of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) who presented '(Hand) surgery is a failure'. In addition, EDI Manager Emily Hotine spoke on 'Equality and Diversity in NDS' and Chair of the NDS Green Impact Committee Dimitrios Doultsinos discussed 'Green Impact in NDS'.
The day finished with a prize giving ceremony where a number of students were awarded prizes for their work. Each winner was congratulated and presented with a certificate from NDS Interim Head of Department, Professor Ian Mills.
