Professor Kokila Lakhoo and Mr Noel Peter of Oxford University Global Surgery Group (OUGSG), along with a team from the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons (BAPS), ran a pre-conference paediatric surgery course at the 2022 COSECSA Scientific Conference

The paediatric course aimed to upscale general surgeons in the surgical care of paediatric patients. Mr Peter further examined for the fellowship examinations in orthopaedics and Professor Lakhoo was the external examiner for the Fellowship in Paediatric Surgery.

COSECSA (the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa) is a non-profit making professional body that fosters postgraduate education in surgery and provides surgical training throughout the East, Central and Southern Africa region. 

The 22nd COSECSA Scientific Conference in Collaboration with the Namibian Surgical Society took place from 8 – 9 December 2022 in Windhoek, Namibia.
