I completed undergraduate medical studies at Durham and Newcastle before undertaking foundation and core surgical training (Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery) in the North of England. I have an academic interest in the early management of injury, trauma networks and fragility fracture.

The majority of death and disability resulting from injury occurs in the world’s poorest countries.

My research at Oxford aims to establish the current management of injured patients before arrival to a healthcare facility, with an aim to identify potential solutions to the many challenges facing local clinicians in the recovery and resuscitation of trauma patients, ultimately developing interventions to reduce the mortality and morbidity associated with injury in low and middle income countries.
