Dr Li is an academic radiologist practising interventional oncology at the Churchill Hospital and interventional neuroradiology at the John Radcliffe Hospital. 

He treats patients with cancer and neurovascular disease with image guided micro-invasive therapies. His clinical expertise includes ablation, embolotherapy, stroke thrombectomy, and endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous shunts and vascular malformations.

Dr Li is also an active researcher, having published more than 40 papers in peer reviewed journals. He is an associate editor of Interventional Neuroradiology and Clinical Radiology. 

He is the principal investigator of the Oxford Pleural Embolisation Trial, a randomised controlled trial seeking to reduce clinically important pneumothorax with an adjunctive embolisation procedure. The study is supported by ORRU, NDS and the BSIR.
